Asociacioni i Gazetarëve të Shqipërisë shpreh zhgënjimin për votimin e së hënës në Parlament, ku u zgjodhën anëtarët dhe kryetari i ri i Këshillit Drejtues të Radio Televizionit Shqiptar.
Në krye të Këshillit u zgjodh me konsensus politik zëdhënësi i Kreut të Grupit Parlamentar të Partisë Socialiste, z. Fatjon Hoxhalli. Ndërkohë, anëtarë të këshillit u zgjodhën edhe: zëdhënësi i zv.kryetarit të Parlamentit Blendi ÇUÇI; këshilltari i jashtëm i Kryetares së Kuvendit Elisa SPIROPALIT; ish-zëvendësministri i Bujqësisë i Partisë Socialiste, i liruar nga detyra në 2024; një anëtar i Këshillit Kombëtar të PD; një ish-deputete e PD.
Shkrirja e Këshillit Drejtues të RTSH pak javë më parë, me propozimin e Komisionit të Medias dhe me votimin e Parlamentit, u duk si një sinjal i qartë se palët politike kishin vendosur t’i jepnin fund paligjshmërive politike.
Por me zgjedhjen e shumicës së anëtarëve politikë, Parlamenti tregoi se interesat e ngushta partiake mbizotëruan mbi interesin publik.
Anëtarët e Komisionit të Medias dhe më pas të Parlamentit i mohuan sot publikut mundësinë që RTSH të jetë një institucion dinjitoz dhe i pandikuar politikisht.

The Association of Journalists of Albania expresses its disappointment regarding Monday’s vote in Parliament, in which the new members and chairman of the Steering Council of Albanian Radio Television (RTSH) were elected.
The Council’s chairman was elected through political consensus: Mr. Fatjon Hoxhalli, the spokesperson for the Head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party. Meanwhile, the council members elected include: the spokesperson for the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Blendi ÇUÇI; the external advisor to the Speaker of Parliament, Elisa SPIROPALI; a former Deputy Minister of Agriculture from the Socialist Party, who was dismissed from his position in 2024; a member of the National Council of the Democratic Party (PD); and a former PD MP.
The dissolution of RTSH’s Steering Council a few weeks ago, following a proposal by the Media Commission and a vote in Parliament, seemed like a clear signal that political forces had decided to put an end to political illegitimacy.
However, with the election of a majority of politically affiliated members, Parliament demonstrated that narrow partisan interests prevailed over the public interest.
The members of the Media Commission and subsequently Parliament denied the public the opportunity for RTSH to be a dignified and politically independent institution.
